It’s not directly aligned with a master-planned community or development. The Angel Lagoon in the Houston suburb of Dayton is the country’s first full public-access venue of its kind. The lagoon attraction features a waterslide, floating obstacle course, kayaks and paddle boards. The Angel Lagoon is one of Crystal Lagoon’s handful of lagoon venues either open or on the way in the Houston area. The attraction has turquoise blue water and white, sandy beaches.

The $35 million Angel Lagoon broke ground in June 2023 at State Highway 146 and River Ranch Road in front of the River Ranch master-planned community.

Angel Lagoon, for now, has bars and food trucks for its guests. A bar accessible from the water, Aqua Bar, and a restaurant called Shoreline Grill are slated to open later this year. Later, it’s planning to be part of a 40-acre entertainment district with hotels, condos, a boardwalk, bars and restaurants.

Tickets for the lagoon area are $31.30 for adults and $19.80 for children after service fee and tax.
