On behalf of the City of Richmond, Texas, H&LA has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking qualified development partners to build a full-service hotel and convention center within the highly visible and rapidly developing River Pointe mixed-use district. Located off Interstate 69 in Fort Bend County, the site offers strong accessibility, regional connectivity, and significant long-term growth potential.
Anchored by the 5,000-attendee River Pointe Church campus and a future 210,000-square-foot medical center, the site is surrounded by new residential, retail, and recreational investments. The RFP outlines a vision for a 250+ room hotel and 25,000+ square feet of flexible convention and meeting space, with additional amenities such as an outdoor waterpark, luxury spa, and dining options. However, developers are encouraged to present creative, market-aligned proposals tailored to their brand and operational strengths.
The City of Richmond is also offering potential incentive support, including infrastructure participation, tax rebates, and Chapter 380 agreements. It is considering public ownership of the convention center as a means to reduce developer burden and drive long-term economic impact.
This project is seen as a cornerstone for enhancing regional tourism, business travel, and event activity while supporting Richmond’s broader economic development goals.
Qualified companies will have the opportunity to review the feasibility study for the proposed hotel and convention center prepared by H&LA.
