Request for Proposals to Third-Party Manage OR Design/Engineer for an Outdoor Waterpark in Reeves County, Texas
Hotel & Leisure Advisors is working on behalf of Reeves County, Texas, in their effort to build an outdoor waterpark. H&LA is soliciting qualifications and proposals from experienced firms for the following services:
- A third-party management company to manage the waterpark
- A design/engineering firm to design and engineer the 6 to 8-acre waterpark
The county is interested in finding a design firm and a management company concurrently so that both companies may work together to bring a cohesive design and management strategy to the project.
About the Proposed Waterpark
The proposed sites are all in the city of Pecos in Reeves County. Pecos is a small city in West Texas, approximately 60 miles south of the Texas/New Mexico border, 75 miles west of Odessa, and 200 miles east of El Paso. The county is considering three potential sites in Pecos for the proposed outdoor waterpark.
- Adjacent to Cyclone Ballparks
- Adjacent to Maxey Park and Pecos Splash Pad
- Adjacent to Reeves County Recreation Center
A feasibility study for the proposed waterpark was completed by H&LA and will be available for review by qualified firms interested in submitting a proposal. The study reviewed all three site options and recommended development near the Cyclone Ballparks. The second site recommendation would be adjacent to Reeves County Recreation Center.
In addition, our study recommended a 6 to 8-acre outdoor waterpark that would include the following components.
Reeves County preliminary estimate of the cost to develop the property is approximately $16 million, excluding land costs.
