H&LA’s David Sangree visited the Palm Springs Surf Club in January of 2024 and was very impressed with the quality of the offerings of the redeveloped Wet ‘n Wild Palm Springs waterpark. Unfortunately, the surf pool, lazy river, and slides were not operational on the day of his visit as they were still tweaking the waves and finishing the other components. This $80,000,000 project will be the second surf park to open in the United States (after the Waco Surf in Waco, Texas) and sets a new standard for quality of facility and appearance.
The property offers an immersive restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating and a private dining room that overlooks the waterpark and surf park areas. It also offers an additional restaurant in the surf area, a bar, cabanas, daybeds, sitting areas, retail store, amphitheater, and extensive landscaping with many palm trees. The views from the property are entirely of the surrounding mountains and one does not see residential or commercial buildings. The pricing for surfing starts at $150 per hour while a day pass to utilize the lazy river, outdoor pool, and slides starts at $20 per visit. We look forward to seeing how this attractive and state-of-the-art property performs in terms of attendance and revenues in the coming year.
